ABOUT

Conceived by Stéphane Tétreault and Denis Plante, The Grand Tango brings the intoxicating passion of tango to the stage for an evening rich in emotion. The Stradivarius cello and the authentic bandoneon give voice to iconic works from the repertoire, wrapped in the lush sonorities of the I Musici String Ensemble. Alongside beloved melodies by Astor Piazzolla and selections from the album Stradivatango, the concert also features the world premiere of a new work by Denis Plante for cello, bandoneon, and strings, celebrating the artists’ long-standing collaboration with the Festival Classica.
